The Automotive Mechanic Supervisor will be part of a dynamic team, directing employees, conducting repairs while ensuring section deliverables are actioned and met. You will be part of a team that works closely with Serco sections to deliver quality automotive repairs in support of maintaining operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.In this role, you will:Direct subordinate employees in performance of section tasks and responsibilities.Responsible for performance management of subordinate employees, including authority to initiate corrective action in line with HR approval model. Perform hands on work in support of section service delivery objectives.Provide work cost estimates.Review work and equipment specifications.Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.Ensure that standards for the accomplishment of short-term priorities are clearly articulated to staff and that resources are made available to achieve the standard.To be successful in this role, you will have:Possession of a valid NL Journeyperson certificate in Heavy or Light Repair is required.Several years’ experience as a Heavy or Light Repair Mechanic is required.Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.Knowledge of various types of Diagnostic Software Programs such as but not limited to: Cummins Insite & Quick Serve On Line, All Data, Navistar, CAT-ET and Auto Connect GPS monitoring are required.Previous supervisory experience.Possession of a valid Class 5 NL Driver’s license.Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance is required. May be required to upgrade to Secret Level II (dependent upon customer’s security requirements).Ability Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and safety, environmental, drug and alcohol, and quality.Additional desired experience and skills:Excellent computer skills in MS Office suite.Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of others.Ability to evaluate risk and related mitigation strategies.Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test.Contractual understanding of SOW (Statement of Work) and labour agreements.Communicates effectively – able to articulate ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.Supervises people effectively – follows through with performance management including objective setting, regular feedback and review.Strong project management skills with the ability to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously.
