For more than 50 years, our experienced team of Government-Licensed Insolvency Trustees and advisors have been working collaboratively with lenders and debtors at all levels to help protect their interests. Performance ExpectationsResponsible for the delivery of consumer insolvency services Act as Licensed Insolvency Trustee for consumer practice files including bankruptcies, proposals and receivershipsConduct meetings with debtors on complex engagementsAssist in building the Insolvency practice and market share; promote and generate new engagementsExecute formal and informal restructurings, which may involve taking possession of assets, operating insolvent entities and dealing with stakeholders through periods of crisisDeliver advice corresponding to bankruptcy laws and practices Advise lenders, creditors or shareholders through financial reviews, business turnarounds, bankruptcies, and liquidationsLead data analysis, review of financial records, and the development of financial models to help in identifying issues, defining symptoms, and recommending solutionsDevelop relationships with current and future referral sources including credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, accountants and other potential referral sourcesPrepare and review all relevant BIA documentation including Statement of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders and Affidavits, Certificate of Discharge, Trustee’s Supplementary Report to Court, Pre and Post Bankruptcy Tax Returns and Final Statement of Receipts and DisbursementsResponsible for ensuring required documents get e-filed in a timely manner with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB)Accountable for project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)Plan, budget, schedule and coordinate engagementsThink strategically about debtor needs by understanding the risks; confer with Partners on large and high-risk files regarding course of action and whether to accept engagementsIdentify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added valueMaintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team membersMonitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise Partners of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicableLeverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the debtor and procedures relating to the file are followed accordinglyPromote MNP insolvency and advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activitiesDevelop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industryRaise awareness of MNP through discussions at community events including client and company sponsored functionsNetwork in the local business community and consider business development opportunitiesContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptlyPromote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellnessConduct formal, written annual performance reviewsCredentialsPossess a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and Licensed Insolvency Trustee designationRegistered Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) Counsellor (have completed Counselling Course and Administrator Course), Commissioner for OathsMinimum five (5) years of experience in insolvencyExperience in the legal or financial industries is considered an asset;
