Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Prairies Transportation Group based in our Calgary office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on dynamic transportation projects in a team environment for municipal and provincial highways projects.As a Transportation Engineer, you are a self-starter with a desire to develop your skills, grow the business and support the development of younger staff. In turn, you will work in a team environment where you will be supported by senior and junior technical staff in the delivery of exciting and challenging projects.It is expected that every member of the team will take an active role in representing Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions. You will be expected to build business relationships with clients and partnerships with in-house clients. You will also have the opportunity of working with other offices across Canada on a project basis.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake preliminary and detail engineering design for rural or urban road and highway improvement projects including Design Build and P3 DeliveryManage multiple projects and staff that may be assigned to provide technical supportProvide technical direction including completion of quality control reviewsPrepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs and estimates Prepare and review tender documentsUndertake contract administration and construction liaisonLiaise and coordinate with multiple project team disciplinesMentor and supervise junior engineers and techniciansLiaise with clients and agenciesPrepare or contribute to preparation of proposals and project presentationsBachelor”s Degree Civil Engineering (Master”s Degree would be an asset)Minimum of 5 years of experience with road and highway projects Experience with all aspects of roadway design (i.e. alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety, quantity calculations, contract documents and constructability)Strong experience and knowledge of Alberta design standards and guidesKnowledge of several or all of the following software packages would be an asset: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, InRoadsRegistration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
