The overall responsibilities of this role are to:Develop and sustain a business strategy for major accounts in a territory designed to gain or protect market share and profitability; assess and monitor market dynamics and create and maintain an opportunity pipeline of customers; coordinate technical service to Lafarge customers in the territory in partnership with the Technical Service Engineer or Specialist, and lead the territory Sales and Marketing efforts within the Business UnitKey MissionsCreates clear business strategy for each account (e.g. increase share, account penetration, protect existing base, etc.)Develops revenue and product goals which are realistic and achievableUnderstands how to deliver value to customers (Performance Innovations) and uses value selling strategiesIdentifies and understands competitive landscape Develops plans to maximize potential of accounts using good account management practicesPromotes the use of Lafarge products in the territoryActively shares customer information with marketing, manufacturing and logisticsCoordinates technical service to customers using the Technical Service Engineer or Specialist- utilizes technical resources to satisfy product and customer issuesGathers territory intelligence on all market volumes and create a realistic succession pipeline of customers that can be sold if other volumes are lostDevelops, maintains and strengthens customer relationships Provides training and education for customersBalances issues between vertically integrated and 3rd party accounts ensuring equity in customer relationshipsHighlights product development opportunities Results/Accountabilities:Researches customer and competitor business cycles/practices and develops marketable value-added propositionsMonitors the quality and performance of Lafarge products in the territoryUp to date account plans that reflect account strategy Strong customer and buying influencer relationshipsEffective call planning systemTracking and management of major sales opportunities as they progress through the selling processIdentification and elevation of customer volume abnormalities with proposed resolutionEffective management of relationships between logistics, manufacturing, pricing and other key issuesIdentification and incorporation of service and product improvement opportunitiesCustomer surveys that gauge overall delivery improvements and opportunities, acts promptly on result.Forecast accuracy across customer portfolioRelationships with other jobs:Interaction with regional marketing, logistics & manufacturingEducation and Work Experience:Three to five years in the cement/concrete/precast industryBusiness, Engineering, or equivalent degreeKnowledge and Skills:Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and during face-to-face interactions Can influence without authority, and possesses managerial couragePresentation skillsProactive, organized, results-oriented self-starter with a high level of energy and drivePossesses integrity and Lafarge valuesCollaborative, negotiator, adaptableEntrepreneurial skills, business acumen, strategistInnovation manager, learning on the flyAs part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.As we are reinventing the way the world builds, we need world-class talent to join our Lafarge Canada team: people who are passionate, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture.Whatever you do, you will make a difference here.
