We are seeking a Teacher / Office Supervisor to become an integral part of our team! You will be in constant contact with parents and students and will be responsible for preparing students' work.

The world's largest supplemental education company is seeking a Teacher / Office Supervisor at our Edmonton Ellerslie Kumon centre. The role will include meeting and interacting with parents, preparing students' work, preparing schedules and being responsible for much of the day to day administration and management of the Kumon centre.

Kumon offers a method of learning that provides individualized, self-paced instruction in math and reading. The Kumon program aims to help children reach and exceed their school grade level.

Requirements:

• Able to work 5 days per week (Tuesday to Saturday) with Sundays and Mondays Off
• Tuesday – 8hours (1:00pm-9:30pm), Wednesday – 8hours (1:00pm-9:30pm), Thursday – 8hours (1:00pm-9:30pm), and Fridays 8hours (10:00am-6:30pm), or Saturdays 8 hours (9:00am – 5:30pm)
• Fluent in English with preference given to English Major or Minor
• Must be extremely strong in Math
• A math and reading proficiency test during the interviewing process
• Successful results of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
• Willing to work with children as young as three years old
• Willing to complete math workbooks to become familiar with the content of the program

Probationary Period:
There will be a 3 month probationary period during which your skills as a Kumon assistant will be evaluated

Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
• Assist students with homework and help plan for future lessons
• Prepare for class
• Other duties a required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in supervisory position
• Excellent math and reading skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, parents and families.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
