Wood inEdmonton is recruiting for aStructural Engineer, P.Eng. to join our Downstream & Chemicals team.Responsibilities:Execute projects as part of a multi-discipline team to meet client needs and expectationsResponsible for completion of structural design and analysis to application codes and standardsPreparation of quality reports and calculation packages as project deliverablesWorking with designers on the project collaboratively to produce design deliverables with the appropriate level of detailReview project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specificationsStamp and issue structural engineering deliverablesStructural subject matter expert for the local officeInterface with other disciplines, project management to execute work per the Project PlanWork in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Wood and its clientsEnhance client relationships and proactively contribute to new and continuing business opportunitiesBachelor”s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited UniversityMust be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGAMinimum 10 years of relevant experience working in an EPC company on Oil and Gas projectsBrownfield project and construction experience is an asset.Excellent knowledge of structural theory, the National Building Code of Canada (Alberta Edition) and Canadian design standards (concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry)Proficiency in SAP2000Recent field engineering experience an assetAbility to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasksStrong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposalsEffective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skillsAbility to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment Willing to travel and accept field assignmentsMotivated by working with people, whether internal collaboration or with external clients;Loves to share knowledge, experience and expertise with others to assist, mentor and coach others in their development and abilitiesDriven to complete all tasks to best of their abilities to meet client expectationsWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
