Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivatedCommunications and Marketing Coordinator.This individual will develop and create websites and apps, as well as marketing materials and design of printed journals and books. This individual will: *Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaign to reach the public and also academics as potential authors *Write copy for front-facing features *Write and organize internal and external communication for help articles, email templates, social media channels, and other documentation, maintaining a consistent brand voice *Write press releases, article summaries, blogs, podcasts, as well as other marketing content *Build up a database of STM journalists and liaise with journalists *Plan and manage the design, content, and production of marketing materials alongside the designer, such as social media posts, advertisements, and conference flyers *Oversee the UI/UX Designers work *Manage the content development for the blog site (WordPress) *Respond to user inquiries regarding press releases, sponsored tweets, advertising, and marketing *WriteFAQ articles for end users and staff *Have an opportunity to become involved in the management committee Requirements: * A Bachelor’s or Masters degree in communications, marketing, science communication, journalism, or a related field, with some experience in a science field, such as health or medicine *Must be fully authorized to work in Canada *Proven experience with content writing such as press releases and/or news features on STM topics (submit samples) *Proven experience with producing podcasts including audio/video recording and editing (please provide names of video editing software used and provide links to podcasts produced) *Experience in developing a marketing strategy and marketing campaigns including digital marketing/social media campaigns *Work experience in an STM publishing or science communication environment *Creative individual who is eager to contextualize and implement ideas *Knowledge of primary customers which are academic researchers publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals; familiarity with peer-reviewed STM publishing is a plus *Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative *Ability to consistently meet deadlines *Superior time management skills *Some experience with project management *Ability to work effectively in teams and groups *Sound and mature judgment; decisive and tactful when working with multiple stakeholders *Excellent knowledge of and experience with social media campaigns *Excellent technical proficiency, with hands-on skills using current software such as the Google Suite, Google Analytics, Microsoft Word, Video Editing,Wordpress, etc. Our client is a small but rapidly growing open access publisher of peer reviewed STM journals with an emphasis on medicine, health, and technology titles.They are a Growth 500 company – one of the fastest growing companies in Canada, with a strong social mission: To transform scholarly communication, and to make health and medical information available to people when they need it.
