Job Description

As Sr. New Business Development Director you will be selling data-driven programmatic marketing solutions to enterprise-sized organizations across all verticals. The base salary $120,000 – $140,000 based on experience, plus bonuses.

THE POSITION

As Senior Director, Business Development you will be focused on developing new business outside of our client’s traditional CPG and Retail verticals. You will be leveraging their data-driven programmatic marketing solutions and introducing them to new verticals such as automotive, quick-serve, e-commerce merchants, among others. Essentially companies that represent consumer brands. You will be leveraging consumer buying behaviour data to help clients target ideal customers through various marketing platforms. This is a newly created position reporting directly to the VP of Sales.

 

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE 

  • Data-driven strategies that result in customized and integrated programmatic marketing programs.
  • These solutions can integrate all forms of marketing, including but not limited to mobile, email, samples, personalized direct mail, social media, and in-store advertising.

 

 

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS

  • Medium and large enterprise clients that sell their products and services to consumers in the Canadian marketplace.
  • You will be selling to Brand Managers, Directors of Marketing, VP Marketing, C-Suite

 

SALES CYCLE & PRODUCT VALUE

  • Average project size is $50,000 – $300,000 +
  • The length of time to close is typically one to six months.

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES

  • As a newly created role, you will be responsible for strategically identifying new business and self-generated leads.
  • Secure meetings with senior-level decision-makers
  • Engage with internal resources (Marketing, Digital Strategy, Consumer Insights, Operations, Finance, and Management) to both uncover business-driving opportunities generate client-centric proposals.
  • Maintain a weekly cadence of forecasting and reporting of lead development
  • After deals are closed, it will require account management of approximately 6 – 12 months before duties are assumed by an in-house account management team.

 

TERRITORY & OVERNIGHT TRAVEL

  • Less than 10%
  • Canada Only

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $120,000 to $150,000 Base Salary, plus bonuses
  • OTE in the first year is $150,000 +

SUPPORT & TRAINING

  • Primarily Technical / Product Training.
  • Job Shadowing, Mentoring
  • 8 – 12 weeks to be fully productive.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of selling advertising, digital media, and marketing solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data to develop custom client solutions.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour data analytics.
  • Experience selling to organizations with strong consumer brands.1

 

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education or professional experience equivalent

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Highly Proficient Computer Skills
  • Analytics knowledge
  • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
