Education, Training, Certification Requirements:    

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline,
• APICS certified, preferred
• Lean Six Sigma certified, preferred 

Experience Required:  3 – 5 Years Engineering/ Sourcing Experience
Basic Function:
Responsible for leading the Sales Engineering Sourcing effort to deliver best cost estimates for buy-out material during the quote process and to manage cost budget compliance during project execution. Responsible for supply chain management working with buyers that manage specific commodities and suppliers to ensure a healthy business relationship. Plant manufacturing volume of approx. $70 million or larger.
Essential Duties:

• Must possess leadership capability – ability to understand the motives and objectives of the Plant and communication/interpersonal skills to carry out the responsibilities effectively and to develop and motivate others.
• Must possess and apply intellect, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results
• Develop request for proposals and negotiate contracts as needed keeping the company’s best interests in mind
• Develop and manage supply chain to ensure product quality and help in addressing quality / warranty issues as required.
• Continuously update and improve industry and technical knowledge for assigned commodities
• Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability commensurate with manager positions in similar industries or situations.
• Position requires regular exercise of decision making, problem solving, and policy or procedure interpretation skills.
• Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills to interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.
• Ensures that divisional and Company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of materials and services.
• Be the liaison between sales engineering, project engineering and the materials teams.
• Participates in preparations of annual forecasts and budgets with the sales and operations.
• May participate in capital purchases and long-term contract negotiations.
• Must have ability to travel – generally by air and utilization of a rental car – regularly, in conducting position responsibilities. Includes ability to handle luggage and attaché cases, etc. normal to business travel of varying length duration.
• Position requires ability to work in a normal office and production plant with welding, machining, and fabrication operations environment.
• Provide technical expertise to engineering teams and proactively participate in Product Development and Knowledge Center discussions.
• Manage supplier performance for assigned commodities around quality, cost, delivery, service level and technology.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers for the mutual benefit of both parties.
• Support the implementation of Materials strategies relative to Lean manufacturing.
• Ensure data problems are identified and resolved. Must maintain accurate systems information in support of company operations.
• Perform related change management duties for assigned commodities.
• Lead/assist in developing strategies for life cycle management of assigned commodities.
• Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet IWT’s growth and customer expectations.
