General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is looking for a Software/Firmware Developer professional, bringing capabilities in the areas of networking, system management, radio voice and data services on Linux based devices. Under the guidance of the technical lead, you will develop, integrate, test and maintain software and firmware solutions that would deliver to mission-critical products and systems for Canadian and allied forces worldwide. From Headquarters to vehicles, down to the individual solider, your work impact and help accomplish their mission while keeping them safe.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required.3+ years of software/firmware engineering experience.Experience with developing software in a Linux operating system.Experience working in C/C++. Convey strong communication skills, both written and verbal within a team working environment. Self-motivated and ability to take ownership, being a self-starter.You will be responsible for a range of activities which includes to design, code, test, integrate and document software/firmware solutions. From analyzing to developing complex systems and architectures, you will also apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical nature to determine the behaviour of legacy systems. You will work with hardware, firmware, system and test engineers to identify defects, resolve issues, perform verification and implement new functionality in deployed systems. Other activities include to maintain the code base for a legacy deployed system and participate in technical reviews, both as a reviewer and author. Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
