General Overview: Directly oversee Plastic MoldingDepartment foreman, supervisors, technicians and indirectly all MoldingDepartment employees. The successfulcandidate will coordinate all activities in the plastic moldingdepartment via the following areas of oversight: Key Responsibilities: Reviews production orders or schedules to plan department operations based on product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates. Plans production operations by establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products (plastic processes & plastic parts). Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Assures machines and equipment meet specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Evaluate tooling issues with the tool room manager and prioritize repairs. Develops or revises standard operating procedures and working practices and assures workers are in compliance with standards. Coordinate with shift supervisors completion of performance reviews for all molding department employees. Attend various types of manufacturing and/or customer meetings. IdealRequirements: 3+ years’ experience in the plastics manufacturing industry (i.e. plastic injection moulding, plastics blow molding, plastic extrusion, etc.) Post-secondary education or training in a related field 4-5 years’ production management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Knowledge of operations, including scheduling, production and quality systems. Demonstrated experience and functionality with ERP’s Sound knowledge of continuous improvement, lean or other process improvement techniques. Self-starter with the ability to motivate others. Leader who is able to make decisions, but also comfortable delegating decision making where appropriate. Good written and oral communication skills. Experienced in good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives and programs. Ability to develop and maintain a team oriented work environment. Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes. Demonstrated experience at implementing continuous improvement, lean or other process improvement techniques.
