As a Senior Middleware Analyst, you will be responsible to lead the design, build, administrate, deployment and maintenance of the corporate applications, middleware systems and web environments. This also includes responsibility for monitoring, availability, scalability, and integrity of the Middleware applications and environments. Responsibilities: Install/configure/administer/architect middleware application/web servers in distributed platforms Maintaining supportability and security of supported Middleware applications by carrying out regular upgrades and maintenance Enforce established standards, guidelines, and procedures for the middleware products Commit to timely response to major incidents and resolve issues within SLA Use industry standard build and deployment to manage deployments as needed Co-ordinate and escalate with other IT Infrastructure, Internal Application teams and vendors as needed to meet business requirements. Mentoring and cross-training junior staff as needed to improve team skills and knowledge Develop and maintain technical documentation for sharing of knowledge Develop scripts and procedures for monitoring, deployments, alerts, Web stats, Zabbix, Web applications and start/stop applications, scheduling, etc. Provide 24/7 on-call support for supported middleware related issues Requirements Must Have Skills Experience At least 5 years of experience as Middleware Specialist Advanced Knowledge of middleware and web architecture and infrastructure design Good Knowledge of UNIX operating systems such as AIX and Linux Good Knowledge of J2EE, Python components Solid experience with application and web server administration, configuration and deployment (e.g. Oracle Weblogic, IBM Websphere, Tomcat, Apache, IHS, etc.) Experience with SSL/TLS Certificates, PKI, etc. Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python) Good understanding of networking concepts Experience with Container Orchestration Tools (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with the Atlassian software suite (Jira/Bamboo/Bitbucket) Experience with DevOps processes (Agile, CI/CD etc.) Experience with Amazon Web Services Education/Training Post-Secondary education or equivalent work experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Flexible work schedule and on call work is required Quick learner with strong attention to details Experience within financial sector would be an asset Ability to work on own initiative Strong technical aptitude and skills a must Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently Adopt industry best practices and apply them to Middleware systems Research, analyze and recommend new technology solutions and standards related to the Middleware systems Proficiency in performance analysis and tuning for middleware applications S trong Administration skills (including installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting) in middleware products Good knowledge of UNIX operating systems (AIX and Linux) a must Advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Unix shell, Python) Knowledge of project management to co-ordinate project belonging to Middleware group Understanding of and experience with change management concepts, processes, and tools Working Conditions Off-business hour and weekend work will be required based on service and project requirements Participate in 24/7 On-Call support.
