Wood is looking for a experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide professional engineering support at our Voisey’s Bay Location.This position requires a Professional Engineer withsenior level experience, successful candidates will be required to work in support of large and small projects while supporting the team technically and encouraging individual development.Thisis a 2 week on – 2 week off/ fly in-fly out position.Roles and Responsibilities:Professional services – Act as a consultant to clientsManage, prioritize and complete design projects for various clientsProvide guidance/mentorship and coordinate project work with other Engineers, technicians, designers and/or or draftersAssist in transforming preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designsConduct research and analysis, and recommend designsIdentify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutionsTroubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutionsCollaborate with clients, suppliers, vendors, and other disciplines to gather information to write reports and complete mechanical designSupport the development of project budgets and schedules via experience and the development of material take-offs Provide technical expertise/support/mentorship to the Wood Mechanical TeamProvide technical direction to construction contractors in the mechanical disciplines and assess the quality of their work in the fieldMaintain and develop client relationshipsParticipate in office, jobsite and safety meetingsWork as a collaborative team member in the growth of our servicesSkills:Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with a Professional Engineer designation10+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in an industrial settingKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, codes, standards, and equipment to the design and production of various productsUse logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsTime management skills are necessary to manage the various design projectsConducting oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrityGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in team environmentsDeadline to apply: February 18, 2020Only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
