With 20 offices and more than 900 employees across Canada, Dillon offers a wide range of services related to building and improving facilities and infrastructure, protecting the environment, and developing communities.We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Senior Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist in our Calgary, Alberta office.Contribution and leadership in the implementation of Dillon’s strategic growth plan and operational business plans within Alberta and across western and northern CanadaLeadership in the development and enhancement of relationships with existing clientsLeadership in the identification and development of new business opportunities with both private and public sector clientsCommitment to being part of a learning organization, to providing leadership and contributing to the career development of junior/intermediate staff, including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring in the delivery of Phase I,II,III and remediation projectsContribution to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees, as well as continued fostering of client relationshipsManagement of environmental projects including environmental site assessments, ongoing monitoring programs, hydrogeological studies and site remediation projectsDevelopment of risk management and/or remedial action plans and assistance in the design of site remediation options, including completion of feasibility studies of environmental remediation optionsWork with remediation technical teams on development of site remediation options and/or contaminant site management options.Contribution of expertise related to the environmental regulatory regime in Alberta, as well as neighboring provinces and territoriesDesign and oversight of environmental investigation/sampling programs (soil, soil vapour, groundwater, surface water)Preparation and technical review of written reports, compilation and revision of contracts and other supporting documentationTravel to other business locations and Dillon offices for the purposes of client relationship development, opportunity/project research and project delivery, as necessaryA degree in engineering, geoscience, , hydrogeology or a related environmental fieldLicensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist in the province of AlbertaA minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience in environmental consulting and/or related work experience within Alberta working on contaminated sitesStrong background in several of: collection and analysis of field data, environmental site assessments, chemistry, geology, hydrogeology, remediation engineering, site characterization, environmental management, health and safetyIn-depth knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies, including the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environmental guidelines, Alberta Environmental Code and Alberta Environmental Quality GuidelinesTechnical capabilities and knowledge of contaminated sites regulation in Alberta and credibility with AEPUpstream/Midstream/Downstream experience will be considered an assetDemonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business developmentAbility to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables and adapt to changing expectationsStrong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organizational and interpersonal skillsStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of AUTOCAD, GIS, Surfer, GINT, ESdat or database abilities will be an assetDillon offers competitive salaries, health benefits and a generous retirement savings plan.#LI-TL1
