Position Summary

The professional will assist in leading marketing and investor servicing efforts for select businesses and funds within Carlyle’s Credit platform.

Responsibilities include designing and overseeing the creation of marketing collateral, due diligence materials, private placement memorandums, customized investor presentations, managed account proposals, quarterly investor letters as well as reviewing responses to DDQs and other investor information requests. The position will also have an on-going client-relationship management responsibility that includes marketing funds and products, facilitating regular client interactions, portfolio updates and ad hoc client projects. Lastly, this position will include additional responsibilities for supporting the fundraising processes, such as helping to manage investor pipelines, prepare internal fundraising status presentations and helping with cross platform projects.

This position will also assist Credit Management and Product Development in evaluating new business opportunities including financial analysis, competitive benchmarking and qualitative considerations.

This successful candidate must be self-directed, able to delegate and help manage a team of junior resources, able to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment, with a focus on attention to detail.

Key Duties/

Credit Project Management  

  • Serve as Project Manager in the development, launch and on-going management of new/successor and existing private credit funds, managed accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Draft marketing collateral including PPMs, flipbooks, standard DDQ responses and other required marketing materials for funds or managed accounts, working closely with senior Credit Product Specialists, Investment Professionals, Credit Sales and Fund Management throughout the process. 
  • Guide investors through fund due diligence processes, including completing diligence requests (i.e. DDQs, RFPs, RFIs), handling relevant follow-up, coordinating investment and operational due diligence meetings and liaising with various teams within the organization (i.e. Fund Management, Compliance, etc.) to produce relevant materials.
  • Support existing investor relations and servicing efforts through the coordination of regular update calls, facilitating of reporting and presentation materials and handling regular and ad-hoc investor requests.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers / Product Specialists throughout the fund formation and fundraising process to ensure full coordination and implement best practices and lessons learned from prior fundraising initiatives.
  • Update broader Investor Relations team on key developments with respect to fundraise process, portfolio updates and other relevant business-specific facets.
  • Work on cross platform projects (both for internal and external use), which may include strategic partnership proposals, internal management presentations, senior management talking points, etc.
  • Global Fundraising Support

  • Work with other Project Managers / Product Specialists and Product Development team to identify ways in which Carlyle can enhance its fundraising process through the introduction of new tools, strategies and information.
  • Support Credit Sales by completing ad hoc projects and investor requests and assisting with coordination of roadshow meetings (or “Zoom” roadshows) and materials.
  • Attend internal and external fundraising meetings, as appropriate, and help in the preparation of materials including prospect generation, preparing presentations and tracking lists.
  • Work with Credit IR team regarding the development of budgets, fundraising projections, commitment reviews, post-close analyses and other projects.
  • Qualifications

    Knowledge and Experience

  • 6+ years professional experience of analytical and presentation experience required
  • Experience with all areas of the fundraising and client cultivation process including implementing process improvements and creating process documentation.
  • Knowledge of alternative products, namely Credit, required.
  • Fundraising / Project Management experience at an alternative investment firm, placement agent, fund of funds or advisor a plus.
  • Customer/Investor/Client Relations experience a plus
  • Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or other business related discipline (accounting, economics).
  • Series 7 / Series 82 and Series 63 a plus
