Your Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners, you will be working with a wide range of clients, providing a personal approach to advisory for small to mid-size businesses. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing compilation and review engagements
• Reviewing files, tax returns, elections, and other projects in your core areas of expertise
• Leading engagements, tax projects, and monitor client deadlines
• Providing accounting and tax advisory services to clients
• Assisting with a small number of private company audit engagements
• Preparing complex T1 and T2 corporate tax returns
• Mentoring junior to senior accounting team
• Managing the firm’s engagements and filing deadlines
• Working directly with partners on technical tax compliance and tax planning engagements
• Developing and presenting training seminars to the staff

Your Qualifications

You have previous public practice experience and are willing to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and mentor your co-workers. You possess strong technical accounting and tax knowledge and are comfortable learning new systems and technology. Your qualifications include:

• You have at least 3 years of public practice experience, working with small to mid-sized businesses;
• You have completed a Bachelors’ Degree and are in pursuit of the CPA designation (or recently designated);
• You are proficient with Caseware, Taxprep, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks Online, and Sage;
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have experience interacting with clients in a positive and professional manner;
• You are very organized, punctual, detail-oriented and able to fluidly prioritize tasks;
• You work with deliberate speed and accuracy, without requiring active supervision;
• You are friendly, personable and able to build positive working relationships with your co-workers and clients;
• You have the ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority of engagements and projects and protecting confidential information;
• You work well in teams and are supportive of the growth and development of your team members;
• You have a strong desire to learn and the ability to take initiative and to be proactive.
