You will be an important part of a growing team of accounting professionals, many of whom worked in the “Big 4” firms before joining Tricon. This role requires a dynamic, energetic, and highly motivated individual who can join the team in a senior capacity with growth opportunities. The start date is immediate.Tricon is an Approved Training Office with CPA Ontario.Perform month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, including consolidation and eliminationsPrepare and review account reconciliations and variance discussionsReview and post bank and other journal entriesAssist in the design and preparation of the corporate financial statements and MD&APrepare and analyze financial statements and other financial reports for internal and external stakeholdersImprove and document month-end procedures and workbooks to enhance the accuracy of financial reportingPrepare accounting memos to determine appropriate accounting treatment under IFRS and other accounting standards, as necessarySupervise and coach junior staffCo-ordinate with internal teams as necessaryAssist with special and ad hoc projects as necessaryMust be a CPA or on track to become a CPA3+ years of industry or firm experience (Big 4 preferred)Residential real estate experience preferredKnowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reportingA self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environmentDemonstrates strong attention to detail and adheres to high standards for work qualityExcellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with good work ethic and willingness to learnAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
