This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP), Commercial Banking Ontario, the Senior Account Manager (SAM) will be a key player in growing the Bank’s commercial loan book primarily in the Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate will deliver an exceptional customer experience to an assigned portfolio of commercial clients while focusing primarily on transactions over $5 million. The SAM will be responsible for originating and structuring new transactions within the commercial / mid-market space. Commercial banking services to customers will include lines of credit, term loans and mortgages for owner-occupied buildings. Additionally, the SAM will be tasked to partner with other banking partners in delivering complementary products such as equipment financing, FX services and term deposits to his/her clients. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of commercial lending experience and a proven track-record of business development.
The position is based in Toronto.
º Establishes a “Go To” market strategy. The primary responsibility of the SAM is to onboard new commercial customers and to grow the bank’s loan portfolio in Ontario. Previous lending experience in owner-occupied financing an asset.
º Works collaboratively with the Portfolio Manager in preparing new credit applications.
º Makes final credit recommendations, ensures that all terms and conditions are met, that the transaction is properly documented, and that all security is registered prior to disbursement.
º Monitors his/her portfolio and ensures that both credit quality and returns (ROE) are maintained.
º Promotes the Bank’s name and visibility in the market by acting as its representative in the business community.
º Keeps up-to-date on market trends, current legislation including the Bank’s policies, procedures, products and services.
º Works in close collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders.
º Seeks to improve and simplify our workflow.
º University degree in business or similar field and 5 years or more of commercial lending experience.
º Proven track record in business development and deal negotiation.
º Experience analysing Financial Statements.
º Proven ability to structure financial transactions.
º Verifiable presentation and written communication skills.
º Ability to manage priorities and deliver in a timely manner.
º Exceptional team player who demonstrates integrity in their dealings with all stakeholders.
º MBA, C.A. or CFA accreditation an asset.
