With a team across Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.You will be responsible for meeting objectives related to the profitable growth and client satisfaction of an assigned portfolio of business clients utilizing Franchising solutions and providing strategic direction, leadership and oversight for Franchise Specialists in a defined market area.This product specialist will possess a strong understanding of franchising products and a detailed and current knowledge of all aspects of the Franchise markets, in Canada.Is this role right for you? Functional knowledge of the Franchising customer segment, major customers and competitive positioning within the assigned market areas.Have a solid understanding of the Canadian Business Banking objectives, strategies and structures. To complement this, the incumbent must possess tactical planning skills and implementation/management skills.Are you comfortable to effectively articulate views to all levels both within the Bank and externally in the marketplace? Expert knowledge of Canadian Business Banking products and services, including systems, routines and operating procedures.Thorough knowledge of Bank-s business lending and deposit products and services.Thorough knowledge of competitor offerings and alternative sources of financing.Expert knowledge of interviewing, solicitation and business development techniques.Credit skills and a working knowledge of financial analysis, risk analysis techniques, credit adjudication and the Bank-s lending policies/procedures.Ability to conduct due diligence on the strength of customer financials for deals of moderate to higher complexity.Do you have the skills/experience that will enable you to succeed in this role? Do you have expert knowledge of products and services provided by the Bank-s specialized sales forces and other delivery channels such as Global Banking & Markets, Global Business Payments, Global Wealth Management, Retail and Small Business Banking, etc.? 5-10 years of management experience ideally in business and/or franchising capacity.University degree in business or other Business Specialty background. MBA preferred.Do you have a positive example of change and encourage others to do the same? Strong interpersonal skills are essential for business development/customer relationship building and to facilitate a positive and effective team environment.You will require an expert knowledge of the franchise industry, competitors, pricing environment, security requirements and product offerings. To complement this, you must also possess a good understanding of a solid understanding of financial statements, financial analysis and credit structuring typically found in the Canadian Business Banking Lending environment.What’s in it for you? The opportunity to work with clients being serviced in Canada although they could have locations in international areas.A span of control is approximately 5-10 direct reports and indirectly 10 Franchise Specialists in local markets.With a team, work with the Franchise portfolio of approximately > 4,500 accounts.The opportunity to interact primarily with various internal partners which include: Commercial Banking Distribution, Retail, Small Business, Global Risk Management, ACE, Shared Services, Global Business Payments, Payment Cash Management, Global Banking Markets, Wealth Management, Enhanced Due Diligence Unit as well as the Canadian Business Banking and Small Business Executive Offices.You will be in contact with client CFO and Controllers and Centres of Influence within the market area; building and maintain internal relationships with key players/contacts.Interact with external parties such as Solicitors, Accountants, Professional Service Providers and other Banks.The National Director will continually work with clients providing service consistent with Scotia Service Standards, Complaint Resolution Standards and Procedures. You will look for opportunities to promote the sale of bank products and services.The position reports directly into the Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Distribution.Working Conditions:Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
