Reporting to the Manager, Forestry Products, the Light Construction Sales Representative is responsible for managing the sales of light construction equipment and establishing and maintaining customer relationships. This position will support light construction sales in the Edmonton area, and will report in to the Edmonton branch.

Duties included, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Manager and Regional Sales Manager to set quotas, implement sales action plans, and monitor economic trends and new product development
  • Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals
  • Establish and build strong relationships
  • Initiate direct sales activities with existing customers and new prospects within assigned territories
  • Act as a customer representative for SMS and as focal point for communication between the customer and SMS Equipment
  • Assist customers in implementing equipment changes for improvement and reduced operating costs
  • Utilize the Company’s technical, sales and promotional resources to generate leads and achieve sales goals
  • Qualifications

  • A strong sales and mechanical aptitude is required with preference given to 3 – 5 years of experience within the construction/heavy equipment industries
  • The ability to operate in a diverse environment with a significant focus on client and customer relations
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in software applications
  • The ability to make decisions under pressure
