The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a Roster Manager – People Services as we prepare to provide support and respond to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic within the potential areas of COVID testing sites, vaccination sites, outbreak crisis management, support to long-term care (LTC) facilities, contact tracing and more, as needed. The Roster Manager – People Services leads the building of a roster of emergency management personnel who are trained, ready and available at a moment’s notice, to provide support to a wide range of operations across Canada. As part of the Workforce Readiness team, the Roster Manager will ensure workforce planning, establishment of training paths, readiness requirements, selection of personnel for standby and deployment and the positive engagement and experience. Who you are: Known to be a chameleon who can adapt to changing circumstances, you have resilience to evolve in a fast-paced setting Consistently demonstrating professionalism, you show refined analytical, organizational and time management skills Able to build effective working relationships and trust with colleagues and stakeholders at various level by being result oriented and accountable Committed to promote inclusion, togetherness and respect within a diverse team, and to empower others through training and coaching Preferably bilingual You will enjoy: Culture: an organization that is guided by our fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality Opportunity: to work with the best and brightest in the non-profit field, in an environment that promotes continuous learning, creativity and collaboration Meaningful Work: you will be “health gate keeper” that support emergencies and save lives In role you will: Establish workforce planning targets for the People Services Personnel in collaboration with operations and geographic colleagues and in consideration of current and anticipated operations Provide technical expertise to attract and select new personnel and identify personnel for deployment Define technical readiness requirements to be able to deploy to the field With the support of colleagues and experts, lead the development and implementation of engagement, training and capacity building mechanisms for the roster Develop and deliver technical and operational content for newsletters, webinars, trainings and operational updates Support a positive deployment experience including briefing, debriefing, mentoring, performance evaluation of personnel engaged in operations Re-engage with roster members post deployment and integrate feedback from operations into future preparedness activities. Assess trends, workforce metrics and data pertaining to the roster to inform evaluation of success and areas for improvement Work as a collaborative member of the Workforce Readiness team We’re looking for: Experience in working in human resources or in a career management function is an asset Strong organizational skills and experience leading cross team projects Experience living or working in a cultural context other than their own and/or in remote and isolated communities is an asset Management skills and knowledge of career development, training, performance management and positive engagement Emergency response experience in the context of a humanitarian or health crisis is an asset Strong computer, project management and communication skills A valid provincial driver’s licence and a successful Canadian criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening is required
