We have been named one of Deloitte-s Best Managed Companies and have won Employer of the Year by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada multiple times.We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to cover a 12-month maternity leave, who is eager to apply their knowledge of payroll and systems to work with the business to drive process improvements. You will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250 corporate team members using a robust and user friendly payroll software (UKG Pro).You know all those times you wish something could have been done differently so you are not stuck keying in manual adjustments during payroll week? The Rocky Mountaineer payroll team is a business partner in the organization where you will have the opportunity to work on system configuration and influence upstream processes before pay items ever get to payroll. You-ll work with an awesome HR and finance team that will support you every step of the way.What You-ll DoFull Cycle PayrollTimely processing of biweekly payroll, including tracking and administering employee changes (i.E. salary, promotion, departure, benefit deduction changes) in accordance with the payroll schedules, government regulations, policies and proceduresPrepare ROEs, reports and administer related remittances related to payroll, benefits, garnishments, and accruals in accordance with legislative requirementsEnsuring that salaries and employee benefit deductions are charged to the appropriate assigned budget/account codesEnsure time sheets, forms and reports are accurate and complete. Provide support to departmental timekeepers as required andrespond to payroll queries from team members and external partiesEnsuring that monthly payroll transactions are accurately reflected in appropriate balance sheet general ledger accountsSupports the year-end audit process, which includes liaising with external auditorsPayroll ProjectsAssist with payroll system configuration, code setup, and optimization initiatives to help Payroll deliver effective solutions that meet business needs (e.G. timekeeping module, code setup, etc.)Submit and manage cases/tickets with UKG to troubleshoot issues and ensure system setup requests are completed in a timely mannerContinuously contribute and maintain payroll workflows efficiencies and SOPsWhat You-ll Need2 years- experience in handling full payroll cycle in a mid-size organization (approximately 200 employees) is an assetDemonstrated knowledge of payroll legislation and Employment laws requiredExperience with payroll systems and HRIS required, experience with UKG Pro an asset.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (you know your way around pivot tables, vlookup, and basic formulas)Experience in benefit administration and reconciliation an assetJournal Entries and Account Reconciliation experience an asset.Who You AreYou have good attention to detail and understand the importance of accuracyResourceful with a “can do” attitude and approach and self-motivatedGood interpersonal and communication skillsGood organizational and time management skillsStrong customer focus for internal and external customersEarns trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactionsMust be a team player – committed to achieve goals and deliverablesMaintain confidentiality and use discretionary judgmentWhat We OfferCompetitive salary100% employer paid extended health and dental and visionFlexible work from home schedule (currently 100% remote)High performing and supportive teamPeer recognition draws for prizesRegular Quarantini virtual happy hours with an awesome HR team!RM2021
