Our client is a leading Canadian Bank.
Pay Rate: $17/hr
Shift: Mon-Fri, 11am-7pm, possible flexibilty for OT and wknds
Main Duties/Must Haves:
– will be receiving financial statements from branches and reviewing, applying accounting knowledge, inputting into internal system.
– from here they will generate reports to be reviewed by our client
– open to recent grads (within last 2 years) from an Accounting Minor/Major (not Finance majors, CFA’s, etc.)
– ideal candidate is working on or has CPA
– looking for contractors that are comfortable with Adobe & Excel
– previous Accounting experience asset
Responsibilities of the Risk Rating Specialist include:
– Interpret financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statements and Statement of Cash Flows) of privately held companies and input the results into a software system. Generate the financial reports and BRR (Borrower Risk Rating Score). Return these results to the Commercial and Agriculture branches across the country.
– Use combination of GAAP, notes to financial statements, and overarching guidelines to correctly identify and input values from financial statements into the Risk Rating model.
– Generate a BRR (Borrower Risk Rating) calculation for each request based on inputs.
– Apply requested adjustments to financial statements and create a revised set of financial statements and BRR rating.
– Understand intercompany transactions and apply the elimination of same to combine financial statements from multiple companies.
Technical skills:
– Knowledge of accounting basics (flows between Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow)
– Read and understand financial statements (company prepared, notice to reader, review engagement and audited)
– Working knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop software, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
– Working knowledge of Adobe.
– Moody’s Risk Analyst (preferred but not necessary).
Soft Skills:
– Keen attention to detail.
– Strong organizational and time-management skills
– Ability to work in a high pressure environment while ensuring work is of high quality
– Problem solving ability
– Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills and inter-personal skills
Education/Experience: Education or work experience with a specialization in accounting is preferred.
