Under the direction of the Store manager, this position if responsible for the operation of an R.P.O. within the 7-Eleven store. Volume of R.P.O. sales is less that $500,000 year.Provides prompt, efficient and courteous customer serviceResponsible for maximizing sales and controlling inventory levels and expenses within the R.P.O.Ensures R.P.O. presents a positive public image through good customer serviceTrains and motivates other staff assigned to work in R.P.O. focusing on customer service and plus sellingCompletes all R.P.O. paperwork and ensures compliance with Canada Post and 7-Eleven Canada Inc. policies and proceduresHandles customer complaintsCommunicates regularly with Store Manager and Field consultantCalls on businesses in the neighbourhood to set up Canada Post contractsPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school education plus 3 – 6 months experience as Senior Sales Assistant. In addition, all 7-Eleven pre-requisites under Store Team Development programs must be completed. Fully trained on all R.P.O. procedures.SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAVEL:Reading – Frequent. Requires Grade 12 reading skills in order to comply with Canada Post policies read destinations on mail and parcels to ensure proper postage.Writing – Frequent. Must be able to write on all special postal services, manifests and registered mail and all paperwork associated with the Postal Outlet.Math – BasicHigh School math required.Computer – Must be able to operate basic Canada Post computer system, i.e. input of destination of letters and packages.Equipment – Fax machine, cash register, computerTravel – N/APHYSICAL EFFORT/WORKING CONDITIONS:Required to bend, stretch, push, pull and lift packages of various weights (average maximum 66 lbs.)INNOVATION:Operate within a clearly defined structure. Training support staff etc.DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING/IMPACT:Limited decision making & marginal problem solving required.
