This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.This position reports to the Principal Investigator. This project will involve the Research Assistant contacting potential participants to obtain consent, complete participant interviews and chart reviews. You will be working in an office on the Foothills Medical Centre Campus.This is recurring part-time position.  Recurring part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular basis.  Position DescriptionSummary of Key Responsibilities(job functions include but are not limited to):Setup and display posters for recruitment in the Long Term Care FacilitiesCommunicate with the facility about the studyGo to facility to recruit patients with local facility staffObtain consent and administer questionnairesObtain consent form surrogate decision makers as appropriateCoordinate with other students to schedule a second call with patientsRecord data from visit, and do chart reviewsEstablishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with staff, peers, immediate supervisor and senior management and with the campus communityManages own time effectively and ensures immediate reports to manager is kept informed of activities, and progress of workDemonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelinesQualifications / Requirements:Bachelor Degree – Health Sciences, Biological SciencesUndergraduate degree requiredMinimum 2 years of related experienceMasters Degree PreferredA combination of education and experience will be consideredAdvanced skills in statistical software programs (eg. SAS, STATA, Endnote)Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet skillsExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability for professional report writingKnowledge of research ethics and regulations for granting agencies (eg.
