This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.At the Health Technology Assessment Unit, we are a team of dedicated health services researchers who are passionate about bridging the gap between science and policy. Together, we offer a unique skill set in systematic reviews, health economics, program evaluation and research design and methodology. Our vision is to be a leader in supporting evidence-informed health policy with innovative and relevant research. We conduct health technology assessments for a wide variety of interventions and stakeholders meant to address a broad range of health policy questions. As a partner in the Alberta Health Technologies Decision Process, we support achieving optimal use of technologies throughout their lifetime. Our innovative research program includes health technology assessments, economic evaluation, reimbursement decision-making and health technology reassessment. We actively build capacity in both the evidence producing and evidence receiving communities through traditional graduate training and leading-edge continuous learning opportunities.Reporting to the Principal Investigator.  Position DescriptionSummary of Key Responsibilities(job functions include but are not limited to):Timely delivery of HTA services to stakeholdersDevelopment of scientifically rigorous knowledge synthesis products that follow best practices in conduct and reportingInnovative and creative approaches to diverse knowledge synthesis products in a variety of diseases and conditionsResponsible for the administration and coordination of research projectsContribution to the overall HTA Units research, learning and development objectivesLeadership in the preparation of manuscripts, reports and other scientific productsManage and execute research projects in a timely mannerPrepare and write reviews, scientific abstracts and papersPresent specialized, technical information and research results to internal and external stakeholdersExhibit a commitment to mentorship and training of students and junior staffProvide research support, produce reports, and administer research policies and proceduresQualifications / Requirements:MSc in a health-related discipline such as health services research, epidemiology or health policyBSc trained applicants with systematic review experience will be consideredMinimum of 3 years related experience in a health related disciplineExperience with systematic reviews and meta-analysis requiredHealth policy and Health Technology Assessment experience is an assetDemonstrated strength in communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse teamAbility to provide support to other members of the team and related units and teamsDemonstrated proficiency in scientific writing, including drafts of systematic reviews, scientific abstracts, manuscripts for peer-review, and other scientific productsExperience in public speaking and presenting at research forums is an assetIntermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with Stata is an assetKnowledge of the Universities core business systems is desirableApplication Deadline: Febraury 28, 2020We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes.
