Scope of the PositionTo provide Operations support for the Prince George Acid facility. To provide exceptional service to ensure continuous operation within the facility.What You Need To Be SuccessfulMust have a minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.Basic PC skills (Excel and Word).Hold current TDG, WHMIS and First Aid certificates (or be willing to obtain and maintain).Ability to work in a team based, self-managed environment.Excellent organizational skills.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate the Acid/SO2 and Alum plants in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining quality and production standardsAbility to troubleshoot equipment/operational problems and operating plant equipment as neededKnows how to operate the plant forklift and loaderUnderstand and comply with all plant safety rules and proceduresUnderstand the function of all process equipment, i.e. purpose of each piece of equipment and the hazardsMonitor, adjust and document process controls and equipment operation to maintain efficient, reliable operations of the facilityAssists Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of their duties as needed and performs minor maintenance duties, participates in annual maintenance shutdown, issues maintenance work ordersWorking knowledge of the plant process flow and operating dataBasic knowledge of instruments, startup and shutdown the plant, understands problems associated with winter shutdown, knows emergency shutdown proceduresPick-up and deliveriesLoads and ships as required, acid, alum and SO2, bagging and railcar movementSettling ponds managementDemonstrates team and leadership skills in training of facility team membersAct as “owner/operator in a minimum supervision environment to achieve a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable facility operationCHEMTRADE is a publically traded (TSX: CHE.UN) chemical manufacturing and handling company headquartered in Toronto, Canada with 65+ locations across North America and Brazil.
