Possibility of replacements at the elementary and secondary levels

Nature of the work

The job of a rehabilitation agent more specifically involves screening, helping and supporting students who present or are likely to present adaptation difficulties, in order to restore and develop the adaptive capacities of the pupil, to promote an optimal adaptation in interaction with his environment and to develop his autonomy, as well as a advisory and support role for school workers and parents.

Some characteristic attributes

• Participate in the implementation of the psychoeducation service while respecting the educational and administrative frameworks, both at the level of the establishments and the school service center ire.
• Contribute to the detection and recognition of students experiencing difficulties, with a view to prevention and intervention; plan and conduct interviews, make observations, collect relevant information from school or external stakeholders or parents and analyze the data to identify the nature of the problem.
• Participate with the team multidisciplinary in the development and revision of the student’s intervention plan by including, if necessary, his action plan; Participate in the choice of objectives and means of intervention; collaborate with the other members of the team in the concertation and coordination of interventions and in the evaluation of the achievement of objectives.
• Participate with teachers in the development and implementation of strategies and projects aimed at helping students who have or are likely to have adjustment difficulties.
• Support and advise other school stakeholders and parents of students with adjustment difficulties; propose strategies for intervening with these students and guide them in the choice of attitudes and approaches to promote the development of desirable social behaviors and adaptive skills; plan, organize and lead training activities.
• Plan, organize and lead, in collaboration with other school or external workers, activities with class groups or groups of students presenting common difficulties or specific problems.
• Design, adapt or develop material according to the needs and capacities of students with adaptation difficulties.
• Advise supervisory staff , write expert reports, progress reports as well as assessments, make the appropriate recommendations to support decision-making.
• Advise and support school stakeholders in the integration of students in regular class; offer them means of intervention or activities appropriate to the student’s situation.
• Establish and maintain collaboration and links with partner organizations; communicate with other relevant stakeholders to obtain or provide advice and information; direct the student or his parents to resources appropriate to the situation and needs.
• Intervene to help defuse crisis or emergency situations and suggest possible solutions.

Qualifications required

Terminal undergraduate university degree in aappropriate field of specialization, particularly in psychoeducation.
