Position: Registered Nurse Job Code: 4044 Location: STEGH # of Openings: 2 Position Status: Regular Part Time – RPT "A" Union: ONA Department: ICU Closing Date: 31/05/21 Pay Range: $33.56 – $48.05 Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: STEGH is looking to grow and develop internal RN’s who have an interest in working in the ICU! This opportunity is for qualified internal RN’s to join the ICU Team! The registered nurse is responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and their families through application of specialized knowledge, skill and judgment, both in assessing health needs and in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. The Coronary Intensive Care Unit is a 16-bed unit equipped for arrhythmic and hemodynamic monitoring, with ventilatory capability. HOURS: Must be available for 7.50 and 11.25-hour day, night, weekend and statutory holiday tours, and other tours assigned by the hospital. The successful candidate must be available on a pre-determined basis for at least four (4) tours per bi-weekly pay period, and either one (1) weekend in two (2) or three (3) weekends in six (6). SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Nurse, currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario Graduate of a BSc in Nursing or education and experience that allows the RN to practice at full scope Previous one (1) year ICU experience preferred. Willing to train selected RN internalcandidates Ability to assess changing situations quickly and respond accordingly Critical Care Certification through the Canadian Nurses Association preferred or willingness to obtain Current BLS-HCP and ACLS or willingness to obtain 5 and 12 lead ECG Rhythm interpretation Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment. Proven ability to work independently utilizing strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills Proven assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills related to acute medical nursing Basic computer skills (Cerner, Outlook) Demonstrated acceptable performance record Excellent attendance record in accordance with the Attendance at Work Program.
