The Cancer Care Inpatient RN plans, co-ordinates and assesses all aspects of care of the client and family to facilitate meeting CIANO Standards of Practice and CHPCA Norms of Practice.
•RN certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
•DeSouza Chemotherapy Certificate required, or successful completion within 12 months of hire
•Certificate of competence CPR
•Active member of CANO or CPCA preferred
•Certificate in Oncology preferred
•Advanced issues in Palliative Care course preferred
•Current experience (within one year) with the initiation of IV therapy and implanted vascular access devices
•Demonstrated teaching expertise in chemotherapy preferred
•Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
•Demonstrated problem assessment skills
•Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
•Demonstrated individual leadership skills
