The start of your new career Our client’s Radio Product development is responsible for all aspects of new feature development: systemization, design, coding and testing of radio software to create new capabilities and satisfy customer needs. Candidates can expect a hands-on technical role where each individual is empowered to influence the direction of the product design. If you are selected for this position, you will work as part of a cross-functional systems, hardware and software team combining efforts to deliver world class cellular products. Face to face communication is also very important so you can expect to travel in order to meet our client’s colleagues and customers around the world. Position Qualifications: Responsibilities: We are seeking a Software Designer to join a team performing Cellular Radio Base Station software development using Agile Methodology. You will work with a team of designers taking ownership of customer software issues and driving them to resolution. Responsibilities may include (but not be limited to) the following areas across various radio products: Working through ambiguous problem statements to understand issues Troubleshooting issues to determine cause in collaboration with other design teams Deciding with team on best way to resolve issues Coding and testing of solutions Clear communication and documentation of investigation progress Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar software in any software layer Requirements Core Competencies: C++ coding skills Object-oriented design Knowledge of hardware building blocks Node level OA&M including initialization, configuration management, fault management, performance management, and test management. Inter-nodal control plane messaging Source-level debugging tools and techniques Test and validation of wireless or data products, and general test methodology Knowledge of OSI protocol stack Client-Server software system development Unix-based development environment. Real-time OS programming environment Source-level debugging tools and techniques. Test and validation of wireless or data products, and general test methodology. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Embedded and real-time software experience a strong asset Software development for telecom wireless infrastructure equipment would be a strong asset Software revision control system experience is an asset. Sc. Or M.
