What you will be doing

Under general supervision of the Strategic Advisor, New Business Development, the Proposal Writer works across all business units to coordinate and write content for proposals that are produced by New Business Development. Included in this role is research and writing of disease and business landscapes to aid in the understanding of patient and stakeholder needs; and project management of the proposal elements. Additionally, the role will be responsible for providing editing and quality control of proposals across Innomar departments to ensure that all Innomar proposals are of the highest quality.

RFP and Proposal Business Writing (30%)

  • With oversight by the Strategic Advisor, NBD, respond in writing, or assist in writing, to prospective customer Request for Proposals (RFPs) for Innomar while understanding and articulating the full scope of Innomar services
  • Develop or assist in developing proposal content by assembling and integrating information including project objectives/deliverables, services recommendations, staffing, budget, standards of service, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Advisor, New Business Development lead, and/or Senior Director Strategic Partnerships, and brief Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Innomar departments to obtain content necessary to develop and articulate the proposed solution within the RFP process. Provide SMEs with proposed content, as applicable, for SME editing and review. Understand and incorporate new business development strategies and value propositions
  • Reflect the proposed solution or service, through writing, while ensuring that the process is captured and optimized for future proposals
  • Adhere to quality principles while responding with accuracy in order to deliver a compelling and consistent message
  • Create/edit and maintain standard service content and templates for NBD RFPs and proposals within different service areas of our business
  • Maintain repository of NBD proposal writing best practices
    Content Editing (30%)
  • Perform or assist in final quality control edit of certain RFP documents and proposals created by NBD for clarity and accuracy based on knowledge of Innomar services
  • Edit proposals across all departments, as required, for content and quality control before submission to clients
  • Ensure all content and medical / scientific background information is accurate, up-to-date, and standardized across proposal submissions
  • Edit conference presentation slides and collateral, as needed, for Innomar speaking events and customer facing summaries
  • Due Diligence (20%)

  • Support in the Research and writing of business landscapes for RFPs and proposals, as needed, to customize proposal based on client business, product and disease/patient journey
  • Research and write content, service comparators in market, and product/disease backgrounds to inform external presentations by Innomar 
  • Project Management (20%)

  • Project manage the process flow of the proposal elements by tracking and coordinating, and/or participating in meetings regarding the development of the proposal strategy and services
  • Manage multiple projects while working under the supervision of the Strategic Advisor and with close attention to detail and tight deadlines, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College diploma with focus in Healthcare, English, Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 2-3+ years of experience in medical or pharmaceutical technical/business writing or equivalent years in working within the Specialty patient services industry or pharmaceutical industry
  • 5+ years of experience writing proposals, preferably within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology / healthcare industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College diploma with focus in Healthcare, English, Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 2-3+ years of experience in medical or pharmaceutical technical/business writing or equivalent years in working within the Specialty patient services industry or pharmaceutical industry
  • 5+ years of experience writing proposals, preferably within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology / healthcare industry
  • Outstanding writing skills with a proven track record in technical or proposal writing
  • Analytical/critical-thinking skills for understanding business issues and complex solutions while defining them in succinct, persuasive written responses
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and complex environment, proactively seeking guidance on complex tasks, as needed
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and to practice strong organizational skills when faced with multiple, time-sensitive priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with experience working as part of a team to complete complex and time-sensitive projects
