Position: Proof of Claim Specialist (2 open positions)

Location: Calgary, AB

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Position Summary:

Bromwich+Smith is currently seeking two Proof of Claim (POC) Specialists to join our Insolvency Administration Team. The POC Specialist is a unique role dedicated to the processing of incoming Proofs of Claim. This individual investigates, analyzes and resolves presented claims in a proactive manner utilizing established department procedures, best practices, and legislative requirements. The POC Specialist has an impact on affected accounts and other functional areas. Interaction with Creditors and external stakeholders is required frequently to carry out the duties of this role. 

As a Proof of Claim Specialist with Bromwich+Smith you will own the following:

+ Analyse Proof of Claims from creditors;

+ Identify, diagnose and recommend solutions within the context of the rules;

+ Document and process the Proof of Claims in accordance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act;

+ Processes Proof of Claims within specific periods as required per the applicable insolvency proceeding type;

+ Handle general administration services on a day-to-day basis.

Knowledge & Skills:

+ You hold a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent;

+ You have 3 or more years of data entry experience;

+ You have at least 2 years of experience in a financial service environment;

+ You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel;

+ You speak and write English fluently;

+ You have demonstrated ability to handle a large workload with sensitivity to strict time frames.

Nice To Have:

+ Insolvency experience would be considered an asset;

+ Working knowledge of Insolvency software;

+ Completion of Insolvency Administrator Course would be considered an asset.
