Emplacement du poste:TorontoÉtat/Province:OntarioPromark-Telecon is looking for an Experienced Utility Locator to join our growing team in the GTA.The Utility Locator will be responsible for conducting Locating services for residential and commercial customers within a specific geographical area, while maintaining our high-quality standards.RESPONSIBILITIESThe Utility Locator is at all times responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of themselves and customers.Responsible for conducting locate requests/tickets as required in a timely mannerConduct research or analyse data regarding excavation locations, construction prints & plans to determine actual lines of requested utilitiesOperate various electromagnetic induction locating equipment including receiver wands and transmitters designed to assist in the locating and verifying of underground utilities, including gas, phone and fiber optic cables.Create digital locate sketches through computer applicationsMark lines using coloured flags and/or paint that are specified for each utilityConsult with contractors, developers, builders, local authorities, and construction companies regarding locations of underground utilitiesResponsible for conducting locates for emergencies, priorities and dig-ups within the specified time time-framePrepare various reports and documentation verifying marked utilitiesMaintain company inventory and safe storage of equipment within Company vehicleComplete all locates to Promark- Telecon standards and schedulesOther duties as requiredREQUIREMENTSPrevious experience in Utility Location or Construction industry requiredExperience interpreting or reading location maps, sketches, prints or proficiency with CAD software an assetProficient computer skillsValid Class 5 Drivers’ LicenseTravel to and within other cities/areas and partake in an On-Call rotationADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent customer service skills; customer focused both internally and externally, ability to handle both favourable and unfavourable customer interactionsStrong attention to detail to produce high quality output in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work well and maintain performance under pressure, with tight timelines & frequent demanding deadlinesAbility to identify problems & situations, take appropriate actions, implement solutions or escalateSelf-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision with strong organizational skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to perform the physical demands of the positions’ work tasks; movement and carrying of equipment and/or materials up to 15 lbs.Stand and walk for extended periods of timeWork in all weather conditionsEvening and weekends and out-of-town work if required ABOUT TELECON GROUPFounded in 1967, Telecon is Canada’s leading telecommunication network infrastructure services provider.
