This full-time position reports to the Manager, Program Development, Jump Rope for Heart in our Toronto office, however this position is not limited to working out of Ontario.  Qualified candidates from across Canada are encouraged to apply.  How you will make an impact every day

Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH) is an annual health education event that strives to put the “fun” into fundraising. JRFH engages more than 1 million children across 4000 schools in Canada and is a well-loved program that gets kids moving and teaches them lifesaving information such as the FAST signs of stroke and EASY Healthy Habits.  

Your role will support the team in the execution of the day-to-operations, including but not limited to: email promotions, marketing, communications, supply management, budgeting, data management and program development.

Program Development – Strategic Input 

  • Provide input to program plans including strategies, tactics and executional considerations and develop contingency plans as necessary to achieve goals 

  • Develop innovative ideas for testing so as to reduce costs and drive revenue  

  • Identify best practices in the industry that could be tested and integrated into the program  

  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the target market and other stakeholders  

  • Execute surveys and research requirements  

  • Review processes and investigate efficiencies to support current and future business needs   

Program Execution   

  • Assist with development of online/offline bilingual materials, communications and other tools  

  • Establish agreed-upon approval process and obtain sign off on plans and communications  

  • Act as a lead member of the program website development team to ensure smooth transition of website and create constituent resources for the website   

  • Support website testing and monitoring for improved user experience  

  • Assist in delivering and executing online strategies including website, email, social media  

  • Lead email writing, list preparation, deployment and key member for e-Communications plan  

  • Proactively investigate opportunities and handles any issues, working closely with key stakeholders  

Program Operations Support   

  • Lead the planning and tactical execution of the Jump annual program plans to support the successful delivery of all program targets  

  • Work with vendors and internal partners to ensure that all project deliverables are met on time, on strategy and on budget.   

  • Collaborate with internal Analytics teams to gather and analyze data from previous executions (stakeholders, the competitive landscape, key metrics, financial performance and market trends) to bring forward insights and identify national and local opportunities.     

  • Lead the fulfillment process with the operations team, forecasting, prototyping, write-offs, inventory replenishment and field communication.  Communicate direction and decisions, seeking input from Manager and other stakeholders.  

  • Coordinate mass mailing activities (if required) such as appeal letters, emails and thank you letters  

  • Provide input into field and volunteer training materials, assist in delivery of training as needed 

  • Develop, coordinate and execute annual program promotions including promotion prize, website setup, email communication, rules and regulations and fulfillment  

  • Develop how-to guides, video’s and support aids for successful program execution and provide input into the development of training materials for national webinars and regional training workshops  

  • Review processes related to execution of programs and identify opportunities to improve or increase efficiency  

  • Support internal customer service inquiries regarding execution of programs 

Program Administration  

  • Manage critical paths, including program master timeline, creative development, print and production  

  • Ensures program resources are updated on internal SharePoint site for field teams  

  • Respond to requests from internal stakeholders, volunteers and donors   

  • Coordinate and execute weekly correspondence to the regional teams   

  • Monitor current year reports and identify areas for concerns and contingency opportunities  

  • Resolve questions coming from the field related to the Jump website 

What you bring: 

  • A university Degree and 2-3  years of work experience in marketing, communications or fundraising  

  • Project Management preferred – 1-2 years’ experience  

  • Program Development and Fundraising experience preferred  

  • Working knowledge of website development, email, digital and social media  

  • Experience working with cross functional teams  and ability to influence outcomes

  • Superior organizational skills in planning, executing and completing projects by deadlines  

  • Self-Motivated, works independently and collaboratively as part of a team  

  • Big picture thinking with absolute attention to detail and follow through  

  • Results driven and metrics focused with a passion for continuous improvement  

  • Focused and committed attitude to drive processes and achieve results  

  • Track record of solid working relationships with teammates and other stakeholders  

  • Sound judgment, ability to think creatively and excellent problem solving skills   

  • Demonstrated superior analytical and critical thinking skills  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as, presentation skills  

  • PC Knowledge – Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Go To Meetings
