PROGRAM FOUNDER, TECHNOLOGYFACULTY OF BUSINESS, ENVIRONMENT, AND TECHNOLOGYAre you an experienced technology professional with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI)? Are you interested in taking on the opportunity to develop technology programs, starting with AI, at NorQuest College? If so, come join the Faculty of Business, Environment, and Technology (FBET) as our Program Founder, Technology.NorQuest College is embarking upon a new initiative to establish credit programming in the area of technology, starting with AI. We are a seeking a Program Founder with experience working in AI to lead the development of the program, to guide the program once it has been launched and to assist in the development of new technology related programs at NorQuest College.The incumbent will be a faculty position responsible for working with industry and post-secondary partners to develop the AI program design andcurriculum, co-leading the program submission to Advanced Education, managing the program launch along with ongoing technology academic operations, and creating additional new technology programs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead New Program DevelopmentAct as project lead; manage project timelines and deliverables and support the proposal through NQC internal new program development process, approval channels, working with various stakeholders, in conjunction with the Program Development Office and related program areas.Develop the business case (program canvas) for the Technology program, in conjunction with the Program Development Office. Co-lead the development of the program proposal for submission to Advanced Education; write and edit program proposal final draft. Work with industry stakeholders and partner post-secondary institutions to ensure the AI program meets industry needs and creates pathways to additional AI-related training in Alberta.Provide expert advice on program concept, costing, tuition and fees, delivery modes, student outcomes, and enrolment planning for new program.Finalize the design and structure of the program, including the program’s learning outcomes and architecture.Management of Program Development and DeliveryChampion and act as chief spokesperson for the new program. Lead program review, curriculum development and accreditation requirements to ensure the program is relevant, current and sustainable.Faculty Support and DevelopmentRecruit, orient, support, performance manage and develop program faculty and staff.Departmental and College PlanningPromote the benefits of and advocating for the needs of the program, including participation in the development of operational and financial plans.Student SuccessPromote and support sound adult educational strategies, manage student admission criteria and monitoring student academic performance.Internal and External LiaisonInteract with key stakeholders including program advisory committees and external committees and task forces.Educational ActivitiesPromote and participate in teaching excellence and advocate for the needs of learners.QUALIFICATIONS:A Master’s Degree in a related discipline.3-5 years of professional and/or scholarly experience in a related field; experience in AI an asset.Experience in post-secondary teaching and/or administration.Experience in building and leading a team to achieve organizational goals.Ability to manage and coach staff in a changing environment.Ability to foster a climate of cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to network and collaborate.Strong interpersonal skills.Demonstrated decision-making ability.SALARY:Will be commensurate with education and experience with immediate participation in our comprehensive benefits plans.TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: The Program Founder position is for an initial 24 month term with the possibility of renewal as a permanent role upon program approval by Advanced Education and proven viability of program.
