Job Description

Our client in the cutting-edge plastic fabrication in Barrie, ON is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team. This role requires you to supervise 10 to 15 production line operators and ensure that the day-to-day production goals are being met. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who wants to be part of an innovative company and eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and disciplining employees
  • Responsible to ensure work station assignments/rotation are scheduled accordingly including employee training and daily attendance check
  • Coordinate production start-ups; shutdowns; troubleshooting; changeovers; and die tests
  • Responsible for Quality Control including making adjustments as required within specifications
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems
  • Facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities, monitoring progress; revising schedules, and resolving problems

Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge and work experience in the plastic extrusion industry
  • 2 to 3 years leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards
  • Ability to lead a team successfully and resolve issues relating to personnel quickly and efficiently
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with production planning, controls, and instrumentation​​​​​​
