Job Description

The Laboratory Technician will report to the Lead Lab Technician or other designated management as required. You will be responsible for producing a finished product that is derived from Cannabis, for sale under the Cannabis Act.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Extract and refine target compounds from cannabis materials as per prescribed procedures;

Ø Formulate cannabis extracts for commercial use using qualitative and quantitative data in conjunction with standard operating procedures;

Ø Ensure starting materials and finished products are in compliance with current Cannabis Regulations;

Ø Upkeep electronic and physical inventory records of all cannabis and non-cannabis materials used and produced within the department;

Ø Review and update standard operating procedures and documentation forms as required;

Ø Actively keep up to date with current advancements in research, equipment and procedures within the cannabis industry relevant to the department;

Ø Coordinate and assist with other departments to fulfill interdepartmental objectives as needed; and

Ø Additional duties and responsibilities may be added more modified as required throughout the course of your employment

 

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry;

Ø 1-2 years of previous or lab experience; extraction lab experience strongly preferred;

Ø Experience with supercritical or C02 extraction considered a strong asset;

 

You Are a TEAM PLAYER who thrives in a team environment and can work in collaboration with other team members

 

You Are FOCUSED to achieve the end results and have a good eye for detail

 

You Are ORGANISED and manage your time efficiently to meet tight deadlines of multiple parallel projects;

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Ø Hands on experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP (i.e. Ample Organics, SAP)

Ø Experience working in a fast-paced setting and adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing assignments;

Ø Experience managing multiple parallel activities simultaneously and prioritizing workload; strong organization, time management, detail oriented, and analytical abilities.

Ø Experience in a highly regulated industry or capacity;
