WildBrainis looking for an experienced Production Editorto join our Vancouver studio.In this role, you will have the opportunity to assemble picture and audio elements needed to tell the story of the show, all the while keeping an eye out for animation errors, continuity problems and camera positioning. We are looking for someone with a good sense of humor who can meticulously pick apart shots and piece together scenes.This role is set to begin immediately.We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!Import and edit in final shots on episodes in productionResponsible for quality control and ensuring that fixes are addressed in a timely mannerAssist directors with day-to-day production needsUpdate and maintain an organized layout for all incoming content and source material for editorial purposesMaintain the episode re-use shot listsManage editorial project/bins/media files efficientlyParticipate in post meetings and adjust/refine work as indicated by post production supervisorAnticipate, communicate, and troubleshoot any creative or technical issues2-3 years of editorial experience (understanding of 2D/3D animation required)Strong understanding of post procedures, production and workflowStrong understanding of Avid Media Composer editing software is a mustBasic understanding of the needs of the Story, Previsualization, Animation, FX, Lighting and Compositing departmentsUnderstanding of geometry, camera positioning, and the ability to provide alternative solutions when scenes/sequences aren’t working so wellGood communication skills and a collaborative attitudeAbility to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlinesCreative and proactive problem solving skills with the ability to implement solutionsStrong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a teamStrong organizational skillsBonus:Previous experience editing on an episodic series is a plusDegree or Diploma from a recognized film production school an assetWhy WildBrain?AtWildBrainStudiosour teams dig into a diverse range of projects – from preschool and comedy to action-adventure, and work with international partners such as Apple, Netflix, LEGO, DreamWorks, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and more.
