Process Engineer – CalgaryPosition Summary:Reporting to the Vice President, Engineering, the Process Engineer will be focused on the planning, design and implementation of manufacturing operations. Responsible for evaluating processes and configuring new manufacturing systems focused on reduced cost, improved sustainability and developing best practices within the production process. The work is project-orientated, and this role will be dedicated to an on-going large capital project. In the future, you may be working on a number of projects, all at various different stages, at any given time.Key AccountabilitiesDesigning or modifying production processes; monitoring modifications and upgrades, and troubleshooting processes once implemented.Identify the requirements of processes and ensure the process is designed and works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs;Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process. Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while optimizing production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers;Assist in preparation of tender packages, proposal packages and with reviewing scope, quotes, drawings and related documentsWork with all departments to ensure project compliance: Operations, QA, H&S, Finance, and Maintenance.Work with the commissioning team to develop and execute commissioning protocols as the project progresses. Requirements Bachelors Degree with a major in Mechanical/Chemical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering;1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment; this includes any co-op experience working in a manufacturing environment;Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Word, Power Point, Excel required;Working knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Ability to achieve results in a fast paced project-based environment;Self-initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment;Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills and good interpersonal skills;Sofina Foods Inc. is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (‘AODA’).
