Make a difference to a vital part of our business

As a Principal Lead Software Engineer, you’ll develop software that runs on one of the largest distributed systems in the world. You’ll be collaborating with internal teams to design, shape and create innovative solutions for our customers, with the aim of providing a seamless internet experience, making it faster, more reliable and secure.

As a Principal Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with internal cross functional teams to translate requirements into solutions to meet business objectives
  • Implementing features and fixing defects
  • Contributing ideas and knowledge to process improvement sessions with the wider team to facilitate continuous improvement of our products
  • Taking on a small number of direct reports (2-3) and coordinate planning activities (4-8 months down the road)
  • Producing production monitoring artifacts and participating in feature rollouts

    To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 12 years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Have good programming skills and an interest in learning new technologies
  • Demonstrate experience working in systems programming languages such as Rust, C++, C or Go
  • Have experience working in a Linux environment
  • Demonstrate experience estimating and producing well tested software on schedule.
  • Experience working in a commercial software development environment
