Eaton Industries (Canada)Company is currently seeking a Power Systems Controls Engineer to join ourteam. This position will be located out of our Ottawa, CA facility.
The PowerSystems Controls Engineer will provide field service systems integrationengineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of systemdesign, programming, installation, start up, maintenance, repair, training andmodification of automated control systems and power management systems.

In this function you will:
Theprimary responsibilities of this position include; but are not limited to thefollowing:
Programming of Programmable Logic Controllers(PLC’s)
Design and implementation of power system controlschemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control,generator control, microgrid control, and SCADA system development.
Quote general turnkey control projects (analyzespecifications, price all applicable labor and materials, write a proposedscope of work, etc.)

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
-Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma
-Minimum of 5 years of experience working with PLCbased control systems with power systems experience
-Legally authorized to work in Canada without companysponsorship
-Systems, human-machine interface software, PLCprogramming, Codesys logic programming software experience with a preference tostructured text language.
-Experience with HMI (Human Machine Interface)software.
-Experience with AutoCAD.
-Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnosticinstruments for automation and power management systems.
-No relocation benefit is offered forthis position. Only candidates residing within 80 km of Ottawa, ON, will beconsidered for this position
-Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accreditedinstitution (Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering).
-Professional Engineering license
-Bilingual in English and French is an asset.Position Criteria:
Knowledge and understanding of best engineeringpractices for design of automation systems, power management.
Knowledge and proficiency working with substation,SCADA, and industrial communication protocols including Modbus, Ethernet/IP,DNP3 and IEC 61850.
Knowledge and proficiency working with Ethernetlayer 2 and layer 3 networking and experience implementing industrial/OT typenetworks.
Knowledge and proficiency of common substationIED’s, protection relays, metering, event recorders, time synchronization,etc., across multiple vendors.
Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repairtechniques.
Computer literacy. Working knowledge of allsoftware packages relevant to successful performance of tasks.
Knowledge and practice of safety precautionsrelated to working with automation and power management systems within anelectrical substation environment.
Has demonstrated ability to provide field service andrepresent company interests in developing customer relationships to assurelong-term customer satisfaction.
Excellent interpersonal andcommunication/presentation skills.
