The Plant Technician will report into the Plant Manager (Master Grower) and will work with the production team in a greenhouse setting. The Plant Technician will ensure optimal plant health and growth, and perpetual harvesting. Plant Technicians must be comfortable working in greenhouse conditions including humid environments and participating in repetitive work. Successful candidates will work well independently, demonstrate strong work ethic and accountability. Job Responsibilities: Plant activities and maintenance including pruning, plant training, installation of plant supports (cages, stakes, etc.), and watering Conduct plant propagation and transplants Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strict biodiversity protocols, including the maintenance of footbaths Monitor environmental controls and nutrient levels Move cannabis between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner Daily inspection of plants to ensure there are no infections or pathogens Clean and sterilize all equipment and grow areas according to SOPs and Cannabis regulation requirements Conduct plant and production inventory counts as required Communicate low inventory levels of supplies and plant resources, deviations and plant health issues to Plant Manager (Master Grower) where appropriate; Communicate issues with management in a timely manner Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements 2-4 years experience in greenhouse/plant cultivation or horticulture required; WHIMIS training preferred; Experience with nutrient regimes required; High School Diploma required; Associates/Degree in Horticulture strongly preferred; Diploma in Horticulture or related field required; Pesticide Certificate required; Previous cultivation and labor experience preferred; Cannabis experience considered an asset; Must be 19 years of age Must be able to undergo a criminal record check. Good understanding of plant health grow techniques, and cultivation; Understanding of documentation and record keeping procedures; Manual dexterity and motor coordination; Good eye-hand coordination; Strong attention to detail and skilled in precision work while maintaining consistency; Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure consistency of product; Basic math skills; Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently; Ability to stay focused and complete redundant and routine tasks; Capable of working efficiently in independent and team environments; Ability to follow strict operating procedures and take direction; Able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time and capable of climbing ladders; Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and ability to work in humid greenhouse conditions.
