As the HR Administrator, you will be responsible for day-to-day human resource functions of the Plant, including recruitment, disability management, processing payroll, benefits administration, scheduling and compiling data and updating all databases. Additionally, you will provide support in various administrative functions, including processing accounts payable transactions and follow-up on any issues related to payable accounts, prepare inventory reports and assist with audits.

Our key focus is SAFETY, by creating a zero-injury environment, and takes top priority in all activities.

Reporting to the Administration Manager, as theHR Administrator, you will:

  • Process the weekly payroll on time and in accordance with the Union Agreement
  • Maintain data related to absenteeism, schedules, vacation and overtime
  • Maintain employee files
  • Process CNESST Reports and short term disability insurance
  • Coordinate and participate in interview and hiring process as well as assist with on-boarding of new employees
  • Prepare and distribute all documents required for progressive disciplinary process and follow up with management team
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment
  • Act as training coordinator and leader of SPS Continuous Skills Development team, updating employee files and training software, in accordance with Training Skills Act (Law of 1%)
  • Review invoices and match to purchase orders, validate accuracy and ensure approval prior to processing invoice, review tax charge by supplier and post invoice in Oracle system
  • Process credit card reconciliation
  • Prepare various reports related to accounts payable function
  • Prepare month end accruals for outstanding invoices and prepare various journal entry needed for month end closing
  • Provide administrative support including office purchases, requested services from supplier and event coordinator
  • Be an active member of different committees including Safety & Continuous Skills Development
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned, to support the Administration Manager

To qualify, you have:

  • College Diploma or University Degree with certification in Human Resources or business-related field
  • CHRP Designation is an asset
  • 2-5 years of related experience in Human Resources and office administration/accounting
  • Knowledge of HR functions, including employment policies and processes, recruitment, training, reporting tools, compensation, benefits and employee relations
  • Knowledge of CNESST legislation and applicable labour laws on employment practices
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment, problem solving, detail oriented and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated worker with a proactive approach to solving problems; meeting challenges while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented self-learner, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and multitask
  • Strong accounting and computer skills, proficient with MS Office (intermediate level word/excel) and HRIS database; Workdayknowledge is an asset
  • Ability to analyze and compare data
  • Function in accordance with established Human Resource and Accounting established standards, procedures and applicable laws and requirements
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with accounting software, preferably Oracle and Kronos
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Bilingualism is required (advanced reading, writing and speaking in both English and French)

  • Agir en tant que coordonnateur de la formation et de chef de lquipe de dveloppement continu des comptences du SPS, de mettre jour les dossiers des employs et les logiciels de formation, conformment la Loi sur les comptences en formation (loi de 1 %)
  • Vrifier les factures, joindre les bons de commandes, sassurer de lapprobation des factures, vrifier les taxes charges par le fournisseur et effectuer la saisie de facture dans le systme comptable.
  • Valider les dpenses de carte de crdit et procder la rconciliation dans le systme.
  • Prparer divers rapports relatifs la fonction compte payer
  • Prparer la liste des factures en suspens pour la fin de mois ainsi que diverses critures requises pour les tats financiers
  • Fournir un soutien administratif, y compris les achats de fourniture de bureau et divers services requis incluant ceux requis lors dvnement corporatifs.
