Our client, a well-established company located in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Payroll Administrator to lead the payroll function within their organization. Processing payroll for approximately 100 employees and reporting to the Financial Controller, the Payroll Administrator will also assist with senior level accounting/bookkeeping responsibilities and in other areas as required. Key Responsibilities include: Accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll (salary, hourly and commission-based payroll); Preparation of monthly and annual payroll reports; Administrator for group benefits program; A focus on providing exceptional client service (internally with employees and external stakeholders); Payroll system and database maintenance; Processing cheques and payments; Government remittances and payroll related reporting – CRA, WCB, etc.; GST filing; Year-end reporting and associated year end responsibilities; Other responsibilities as required. Requirements Five or more years of relevant payroll experience; A Diploma or Degree in a related field would be an asset; Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs exceptional excel skills; Experience and knowledge of required payroll reporting (CRA, WorkSafe BC, etc.) and benefits administration; Knowledge of SAGE payroll; Completion of Certificate Program through the Canadian Payroll Association would be an asset; Keen eye for detail; Well versed in using accounting systems (experience with SAGE is preferred); Critical thinking abilities and a proactive approach; Sound problem-solving abilities; Highly organized; Strong communication skills; Ability to multi-task and enjoy supporting others.
