Responsibilities Process payroll for multiple payroll companies Ensure accuracy of employee data in ADP payroll system Set up new hire files Process terminations & prepare Record of Employment Process payroll garnishments Ensure accuracy of earnings and deductions each payroll cycle Process special pay as required Process required adjustments Provide back up for timesheet administration on Oracle Identify and resolve payroll issues Respond to payroll questions from employees Create and/or run reports from ADP payroll system Complete Account Reconciliations for assigned accounts Assist employees with accessing electronic pay statements and T4s Filing and other administrative duties, as required Qualifications Successful completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) with Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) is required Experience with ADP Payroll system is preferred Payroll experience of 2 – 5 years Experience in processing hourly and salaried payroll Understanding of the full payroll cycle as well as understanding of basic accounting is an asset Knowledge of payroll legislation for various provinces and ability to research legislation Strong computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office, specifically Excel Friendly and professional attitude Able to work on a team and independently Effective problem solving & organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Detail oriented and ability to work with tight timelines Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner Additional Information A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.) If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required. Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment. A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion. To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
