The Investment Operations & Technology Finance Business Partner will support the group on all financial aspects of their operations including high impact projects and will accompany them in the journey to deliver on the firm’s strategic plan. The Business Partner will work closely with executive stakeholders to ensure delivery of transformational capabilities. We are looking for someone passionate about using a mix of rigorous analysis, good overall business acumen, solid understanding of investment processes and technology, empathy and intuition to support the delivery of projects that will transform the operating model of financial services. The Business Partner will play a pivotal role between Investment Operations & Technology and Finance groups. This high impact role is well suited to entrepreneurial, highly collaborative person who is excited by the challenge of identifying opportunities, collaborating with business leaders and improving overall financial performance.

As the Business Partner, you will:

  • Drive financial oversight of strategic projects – setup appropriate financial governance, monitor the global delivery plan, build and track business cases, prepare financial dashboard and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor project costs and resource allocations to ensure investment is used in the best interests of the firm.
  • Review, challenge and propose recommendations around IT and Operations financials.
  • Represent the needs of various stakeholders throughout the financial cycle, from budget, forecast, actuals and long term planning, bridging between the needs of business operations and the finance reporting.
  • Work with the finance and operations & technology teams, internal customers, staff and consultants to build a solid understanding of projects and be able to communicate properly around this within finance. 
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of financials (requirements, assumptions, changes in scope etc.) associated with project and establish an audit trail to support.
  • Set client expectations, maintain communication with key stakeholders while ensuring a great customer experience.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to problems faced by the business units.
  • EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION :

  • A Bachelor’s or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, information systems, computer science or similar field
  • EXPERIENCE AND SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • 5+ years as a Project manager or IT Finance Partner or equivalent consulting experience.
  • Strong background in finance, above average analytical skills and savvy with quantitative analysis.
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate a history of hands-on involvement in large projects involving business and technology deliverables.
  • Prior experience in the investment management space represents an important asset.
  • Ability to maintain project mindset and structure, including the development of a financial strategic project plan encompassing schedule, budgetary, contractual, human resource and stakeholder elements.
  • Ability to work iteratively with delivery teams across investment operations & technology, planning and measuring financials against evolving priorities to support the growth of our business.
  • Ability to work with key business partners, to build and maintain a strong financial plan that can be used to drive delivery priorities.
  • Very strong communication skills and know how to influence without authority.
