The Operations Manager will oversee the dining hall food services with some catering responsibilities.Responsibilities:Responsible to supervisor our Front Line Associates in a unionized environmentfor any food service related activityResponsible to manage schedules, vacations for a union staff Supervise the production, assembly, presentation and service of foods in specific areas of the food service operations for eg: grill, deli, center stage, pizza & pizza according to Aramark guidelinesTo interact with customers in dining areas during meal periodsTo maintain highlevels of cleanliness and safetyOversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/ groupsMeet with clients to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals, staffing for eventsPlan, direct and guide catering team to execute orders in a manner that meets/exceeds operational and financial targets, jumping in and working alongside front line staff when necessary Work alongside Executive Chef to plan catering menu, and catered events menuLead by example in adhering to all Aramark policies and procedures, including Business Conduct, Food Safety, OH&SRemain compliant with regards to all OH&S policies, procedures and required activities (i.e. updated safety boards, inventory on First Aid Kits, proper chemical handling, monthly safety talks etc.Ensure all front line staff provide quality, courteous service to all customersPerform other duties as assignedCompletion of Hospitality or Food and Beverage program considered an asset2+ years’ experience in managing food service operations which could include Catering/Conference Services/Hospitality Management 2+ years’ experience in leadership roleEffective communication with the ability to multi-taskBased on the client needs, the position requires events that are run over the weekend and / or evening.
