Job Description

Copcan is an award winning, Heavy Civil Construction Company based in Nanaimo since 1970. Our head office is seeking an office assistant to help the construction project team handle administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to project team to help handle field paperwork including time cards
  • Tracking and record keeping of crew hours and material quantities in Excel
  • Drafting subcontract agreements and writing purchase orders
  • Sending out email invitations to subcontractors and suppliers for quotes.
  • General upkeep of team’s calendar meeting reminders
  • Assisting in assigning cost codes for incoming invoices and time cards

  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Capable of working alone or as part of a team

Skills and experience:

  • 1+ years’ experience working in an office assistant type role
  • Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Preference given to someone with experience in the construction industry
