We are currently seeking a Network Administrator to join one of our clients in Montreal. This is a full-time position that will start remotely. Eventually the candidate will be required to work in the Montreal office.

Responsibilities:

• Research current information technology and information technology trends.
• Recognize improvement opportunities, make recommendations, and assist in modifying existing and designing new information technology services.
• Review, analyze, and report on key service metrics such as availability, reliability, capacity, usage, and IT performance.
• Monitor and report on key software asset metrics such as current version, installed version, support coverage, licensing information, license usage, license compliance, cost.
• Monitor and report on key hardware asset metrics such as warranty and maintenance support coverage, age, cost, usage, reliability, performance.
• Monitor and report on adherence to policies and procedures. Proactively identify risks and recommend approaches to managing them.
• Implement changes to information technology services and service assets
• Coordinate and supervise the work of the IT Help Desk (IT Support Technician), managing day to day operational requirements related to help-desk services and service assets, setting work schedules and ensuring that the necessary support and guidance is provided to assist all sectors in the execution of their activities.
• Train one supervisee, monitor their performance, and prepare staff performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with Administration to ensure staff movements are accompanied with security access changes and IT assets are properly accounted for and managed.
• Procurement and asset management
• Identify qualified suppliers of information technology services and assets and maintain a roster.
• Coordinate with finance unit to ensure compliance to finance policies and procedures.
• Prepare requirements and solicit quotations from suppliers for services and assets.
• Perform any additional activities that may be required to ensure the success of the work team to which assigned

Requirements:

• Completion of two years of post-secondary education in the Informatics field, specifically related to systems administration, network administration, and end-user support.
• Microsoft certifications in server management, desktop management, networking, and back office technologies are essential.
• A minimum of 10 years relevant experience along with several years of supervisory experience. Ability to train, supervise and guide staff.
• In depth knowledge of a diverse range of information technologies in order to research, recommend, design, deploy, and support these technologies.
• Microsoft server and desktop operating system software
• In-depth knowledge of current industry trends and technology solutions
• Ability and skill to analyze a complex situation, quickly deduce the probable cause, and recommend a resolution strategy which has the highest probability of success
• Analytical skills to identify causes of and resolve technical problems, to analyze performance data and identify trends and risks, and to analyze requirements and recommend solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
